Meet the Doctor
Dr. Timothy S. Malton, Chiropractor
I have been helping people live healthier, happier and pain free since opening my clinic in Guilford. As a chiropractor with 13 years of experience I am committed to improving your quality of life.
My passion is helping families get and stay healthy through Chiropractic. I want nothing less than to see my community living and expressing life at maximum potential. Too many of us have accepted going through life with pain or depression or illness or a reliance on drugs to help us "get by". I'm here to tell you, it doesn't have to be that way. You have more potential to be healthy than anyone has ever led you to believe. I would love to show you how!
My Story
I am often asked why I'm so passionate about what I do and why I became a chiropractor. As a young man I was fortunate enough to be a member of the Norwegian Professional Ski Instructors Demonstation Team. I had a serious fall while doing a backflip on telemark skis. I got pretty rattled and although the ER doctors said I didn't break any bones, I couldn't take a deep breath, I had terrible pain in my upperback, I couldn't sleep more than a few hours and I was getting worse. I was perscribed pain killers and muscle relaxants. I went to physical therapy and even tried acupuncture. Nothing helped. Finally, after several months someone suggested I see a chiropractor. He looked at the same X-rays taken before and instead of telling me there was nothing wrong, he showed me where the problem was and how he could correct it allowing my body to heal. I received my first chiropractic adjustment and immediately felt the change. Within a couple of weeks I felt 100% better. Because of that experience I became a chiropractor.
Since that time I have learned that every day, our bodies change. It either gets a little stronger or a little weaker. If you want to get stronger and healthier, all the parts of your body have to be able to communicate with your brain through your nerves. In order for that to happen, your spine has to be aligned and functioning properly, because of how intimately connected the spine and nervous system are. That's why chiropractic can be so beneficial. By keeping your spine functioning optimally, your brain and body stay connected, and you have the best chance of getting stronger and healthier every day, regardless of your current state of health!
On a personal level I enjoy cycling, running, skiing, reading, playing guitar and most importantly spending time with my two beautiful children Abby and Drew.
